During my master theses I have been developing and designing different variations of lossless data compression algorithms, mainly dictionary based. The most successful version is named LZDB3 and is based on the LZSS algorithm. The algorithm is currently implemented and used in Columbitech's product Columbitech Wirless VPN.
The theses describes and analyses the different categories of lossless data compression algorithms and investigates how these algorithms can be used to increase the performance in a Wireless VPN.
